ACT Welcomes New Staff

ACT Welcomes New Staff

The Alabama Conference of Theatre has two new leadership positions!  It is with great excitement that I announce Cindy Harper as our new Executive Director!  Cindy comes to us with much experience in grant writing, advocacy, public relations, and budgeting.  She served as an executive director of the Birmingham Music Club as well as the Alabama Ballet.  She comes with a wealth of knowledge to augment ACT and take it to new heights!
I would also like to announce the addition of a new position, Festival Director.  Sue Ellen Gerrells, our current Interim Executive Director as well as Past Executive Director and Community Theatre Chair has been hired to take on this venture.  With Sue Ellen’s wealth of institutional knowledge and vision, our festivals should continue to be productive and grow with the ever changing needs of our state.
These new positions will commence October 1.  Between Cindy’s and Sue Ellen’s knowledge and enthusiasm, I am thrilled to see how ACT grows within the next few years.  The division of leadership promises to help create more stability and collaboration throughout our divisions.  Please welcome the two to their new positions and I encourage each of you to help better our organization by providing your insight and energies to make the Alabama Conference of Theatre a continued success.
